In a recent article comparing the health status of the nation’s children, Nevada ranked 48th. The growing incidence of obesity and physical inactivity has become a national problem. Drive around any neighborhood and the after school pick-up games that used to be the norm are missing. Children are seldom outdoors playing games and sports or just being active. As student performance on academic tests continues to drop so does the amount of physical activity these children are involved with in both school and at home. The Legislature meets only every two-years and for a limited amount of days, and hence many bills fall by the wayside.

The articles below represent professional views on why physical education should be offered daily.
It is time now to act on behalf of our children. A Healthy Body and a Healthy Mind go together.
